British company, Mutts & Hounds design and hand make stylish and quintessentially English dog apparel and accessories. Founded in 2011, with previous experience in pattern cutting, dog coat design and a BA(HONS) degree in fashion & textiles, Laura Gough recognised a need for beautiful, well made and well fitting dog products that supported British manufacturing and suited the country set as well as the forward thinking fashionistas of the city.
Based in the west country just outside of Bath in a quirky stable conversion, Mutts & Hounds draw inspiration from the surrounding English countryside, designing products that withstand the elements incorporating quality fabrics such as quilts and waxed waterproofs with warm Sherpa fleeces and 100% woollen tweeds spun in Yorkshire. Every Mutts & Hounds product is expertly hand-cut and constructed using traditional methods either at the studio or in their UK based factory, and each boasts an exceptional fit and finish.
Their range includes quirky neckerchiefs and soft beds made using printed linens by renowned Bristol textile designer Emily Bond, practical soft harnesses in a range of tweeds and organic linens, classic leather collars and leads, and not forgetting the dog's favourite - squeaky bone toys available in a range of stylish fabrics and patterns.
In 2013 Mutts & Hounds designed their very own luxury bone-repeat linen fabric which is now available in 3 colours across the whole range.
With many high-profile stockists including Harrods of Knightsbridge and John Lewis, Mutts & Hounds is on track for huge growth while still keeping to their core values: High-quality, well-designed dog products that are undeniably British.
